    • Obituary of Carl Rumig

      It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carl Rumig on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the age of 85 years.

      Carl was predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy of 63 years in 2020. He is survived by his children, Sandra (Murray), Brian (Allison) and Denise (Doug) as well as eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sisters Betty, Brenda (John), brothers Ron (Linda) and Raymond as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Carl was predeceased by seven siblings.

      Carl was employed with Budd Automotive for over 30 years. In his retirement, he enjoyed golf, fishing and travel with Dorothy and good friends. Carl was a passionate fan of baseball and hockey, most notably the Blue Jays and the Leafs. He will also be remembered for his great sense of humour, enjoying life with his family and many friends.

      Special thanks go out to the staff at Briarfield Gardens, Westmount LTC and the many nurses and doctors at both Grand River and St. Mary's Hospitals who offered compassionate care and comfort for Carl in recent years.

      A memorial service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 50 Erb Street West, Waterloo on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 2:00 pm. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed at www.erbgood.com. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
