- Catharine Erb, "the eighth in the family, was born January 28th, 1825. She is married to John Martin, a farmer. They reside in Columbia, Kansas. Their family consisted of seven children, two of whom joined the army during the late civil war and both lost their lives. The other five are very much scattered through the western and south-western states. Their names were not received"
