    • Frederick Sydney Weston died Thursday in St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. He was 80.

      Born in England, Mr. Weston came to Canada at the age of 7, and moved to Tavistock in 1910. He operated a bakery here until his retirement several years ago.

      He was a member of Zion United Church, the Masonic Order, Mocha Temple, the Shrine Band of London, Ont. and the Tavistock Band. He had been a member of the public utilities commission and of the Tavistock arena company board and public school board, both now defunct.

      He was predeceased by his wife, the former Elizabeth Weitzel, in 1958.

      Surviving are two sons, George of Prescott and Spencer of Tavistock; three daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Olive) Alles of Toronto, Mrs. Laurie (Elaine) Harris of Woodbridge and Mrs. William (Jean) Pollard of St. Catharines and eight grandchildren.

      Funeral services were held at Zion United Church on Sunday. Burial took place in the church cemetery.

      The Robert Krug Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
