- ERTEL, Carl James Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family at Trinity Village Care Centre on Saturday, August 13, 2011, at the age of 80 years. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Bealer) Ertel for 16 years. Loving father of Darrell Ertel (Brenda), Wayne Ertel (Linda Speek), Rick Ertel (Cindy), Yvonne Ertel and Karen Ertel. Cherished grandpa of Ashley, Christie (Aaron), Chris, Lindsey, Taralynn, Eric, Shawn, Lisa and Kyle. Also survived by his sister-in-law Reta Ertel, many nieces and nephews and his granddogs, Shelby, Casey, Molson and Coal. Pre-deceased by his first wife Betty (nee Grubb) Ertel; parents Robert and Matilda (nee Goldbeck) Ertel; and siblings Helen Bender, Dorothy Kienapple, Bernetta Bisch and Claude Ertel. Carl's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, August 16th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. (Parish Prayers 8:30 p.m.) at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519- 749-8467. Prayers will be offered in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 9:20 a.m. followed by procession to St. Anthony Daniel RC Church, 29 Midland Dr., Kitchener for Carl's Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Breslau followed by a reception at the St. Anthony Daniel Parish Life Centre. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
