    • IVAN GASCHO 1932 - 2006 Passed away peacefully, at St. Mary's Hospital, on Monday, May 8, 2006, at the age of 74 years. Beloved husband for 50 years of Doris Gascho (nee Gingrich). Loving father of Fay Gascho and her husband Andre Bernier of Petersburg, Jeanette Gascho and her husband Scott Nicoll of Waterloo, and Christine Gascho and her husband Steve Bradley of Whitby. Proud and loving grandfather of Maya, Myles and Morgan Bernier, Amy (studying in Australia), Ilia (currently in the Netherlands), Jake and Billy Nicoll. He is survived by his sisters, Norma and her husband Maholn Bast of Lively, Edith and her husband Earl Wagler of Millbank; brother, John Gascho and his wife Ellanore Turner of Edmonton, as well as sisters-in-law, Mary Gascho of Milverton and Anna Mae Gascho of Brunner and many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Annie and John S. Gascho and brothers, Allan (2005) and Mervin (1999) Gascho. Since retiring from First Mennonite as groundskeeper, Ivan spent his days at the family farm, Idlewild. Friends are invited to share their memories of Ivan with his family during visitation at First Mennonite Church, 800 King Street East, Kitchener on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Ivan's life and faith will be held at First Mennonite Church on Friday May 12, 2006 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gary Knarr and Rev. Catherine Hunsburger officiating. Cremation will follow. Special thanks to the wonderful staff in ICU and the 6th Floor of St. Mary's Hospital for their compassionate care in the last two weeks. In Ivan's memory, donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee or Mennonite Disaster Services and can be arranged through the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo.
