  Ten-year-old Bernadette Eileen Leahey of Baden died before reaching hospital Thursday evening of last week after she fell through a glass door. She apparently tripped as she went out the front door of her home in Baden, breaking the glass panel. Coroner E. R. Wyatt of Elmira said she apparently fell on pieces of glass, which punctured her heart. An ambulance was called, but the young girl was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Leahey. Born in Guelph and a student at the Baden Public school, Bernadette was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church here. Surviving besides her parents are four brothers, Michael, Patrick. John and Bernard. Jr. and two sisters, Pauline and Mary, all living at home; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Leahey of Guelph Prayers were said Monday at the Bruce J. Omand funeral home, followed by requiem high mass at Holy Family RC Church. Burial took place in the church cemetery. New Hamburg Independent 7 Jul 1969
