- Passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Chartwell Elmira Retirement Residence, at the age of 88 years. Audrey Lydia Snyder (Veitel) of St. Jacobs was the beloved wife of the late Milferd M. Snyder (2008). Cherished mother of Sheila (Neil) Schmidt of St. Jacobs, Brenda (Craig) Hoyt of Elmira, and Paul (Nola) of Newfoundland. Devoted grandmother of Jamie (Stephanie), Jennie (Tony), Chad (Steph), Keri (Mike), Luke (Megan), Aaron, Jenna, Frankie, and 16 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Audrey was the last surviving member of her family having been predeceased by her parents Norman and Dora (Schwalm) Veitel, brothers Clarence, William, Lloyd, Edward, and sisters Ruth Schwark and Rita Forler. A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 131 Flax Mill Dr., Conestogo, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Interment in St. Matthew's Lutheran Cemetery with a reception to follow in the church hall. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Audrey's caregivers; Dr. Dianne Ensing, the staff of Chartwell and Care Partners, and the palliative care team; nurses Dianne, Jane, and Heather, and nurse practitioner Jessica. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
