  SNYDER, Milferd M. - Peacefully, on Thursday, October 2, 2008, at his residence, Milferd Snyder, age 83 years, of St. Jacobs. Beloved husband and best friend of Audrey (Veitel) Snyder for 60 years. Loving father of Sheila and Neil Schmidt of St. Jacobs, Brenda and Craig Hoyt of Conestogo, Paul and Nola Snyder of Georgetown. Devoted grandfather of Jamie and Stephanie Schmidt, Jennie and Tony Hergott, Chad Hoyt (Stephanie), Keri Amos, Luke and Megan Hoyt, Aaron Snyder, Jenna Snyder and Frank Willis. Also lovingly remembered by his great-grandchildren, Mikayla Schmidt, Jayde and Tehya Hergott, Sophie Schmidt, Julia Hoyt and by his sister-in-law, Vera Snyder of Waterloo. Milferd was the last surviving member of his family having been predeceased by his parents, Joseph W. and Leah (Martin) Snyder; brothers, Oscar (Erma), Eden and his sister, Lucinda (Tilman) Horst. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon on Sunday, October 5, 2008 transfer will be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Conestogo for funeral service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Monika Wiesner officiating followed by interment in St. Matthew's Lutheran Cemetery, Conestogo. In his memory, donations to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church Building Fund or St. Mary's Hospital, Emergency Department would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
