  Cornelius Bear, "was born November 11th, 1843, and died February 2nd, 1882. He was married to Mary Wiffler and had a family of seven children". Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character. Berlin [Kitchener, Ont.]: [s.n.]. ____________ According to Cornelius Bear's death record he died in 1881, but in 1896 there is a birth registration for a Simon Bear son of Cornelius Bear and Mary Ann Wiffler. Which is document is in error or was Simon an illegitimate grand child given the grandparent's names
