      Injuries Fatal Trucker Dies in Hospital


      Transport driver, in Hamilton General Hospital, early Tuesday morning, April 17, 1956. He is Wellington County's fourth traffic fatality this year. The 33-year-old Hespeler bachelor suffered a fractured skull and other injuries on Monday, when his tractor-trailer transport was hit by a CNR passenger train near Glen Christie. He was taken to the Hamilton hospital for surgery, after being rushed to South Waterloo Memorial Hospital in Galt. Immediately after being admitted, he rallied slightly but died at 4: 35 a. m. Born in Puslinch on January 2, 1922, he lived all his life there. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Bond. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Farquhar of Kitchener and a brother, Edwin A. Bond of R. R. #2, Hespeler. A largely attended funeral was conducted on Thursday at 2: 30 at the Stager Funeral Home, Galt Street, Hespeler. Rev. M. G. McFarlane of Georgetown officiated. Wood's Transport drivers formed a guard of honour. Pallbearers: Chester Brown and Edwin Evans of R. R. #1, Hespeler; Pat Woods, Everett Parr, Bill McIntosh and Leo MacGillvray of Hespeler. Burial New Hope Memorial Chapel in Hespeler.
