  BATTLER, Viola Christena (Schwartz) - Passed away peacefully, on Thursday, September 23, 2004, at Freeport Health Centre of the Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. Viola was born 82 years ago in Chesley, on July 9, 1922. She was a member of Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, New Dundee where she was involved in Bethel Women's Ministries. Viola had farmed with her husband Ralph at RR2, Peterburg for many years. After moving to New Dundee she was active in Seniors Groups at Wilmot Centre, New Dundee and Mannheim. Beloved wife of the late Ralph Allan Battler who predeceased her November 18, 1997. Cherished mother of Thelma and Merlin Trussler of Kitchener, Maurice and Christine Battler and Bruce and Marilyn Battler, all of New Hamburg. Dear grandmother of Robert, Bradley and Kevin Trussler, Naomi Battler, Amy, Dale, Julie and Lisa Battler and great-grandmother of Braeden and Camden. Lovingly remembered by her step-brother and sister Stuart Lindenschmidt and Norma (Alfred) Lerch, all of Hanover as well as by nieces and nephews. Viola was predeceased by her brother Julius Schwartz, her mother Christena Laurie and her step-father Herb Lindenschmidt. Friends and relatives may call at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Saturday, September 25, 2004 from 7-9 p.m. On Sunday, September 26. 2004 transfer will be made to Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, New Dundee for visitation from 1-2 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Graham Burkhart officiating.
