  Vernal passed away peacefully on Friday at Listowel Memorial Hospital, aged 92 years. Predeceased by his wife Salome (Horst) Martin in 2016. Father of Esther and Joseph Brubacher of Wallenstein, Lucille and Mervin Martin of Listowel, Elverne and Grace of West Montrose, Earl and Fern of Elora, Bruce and RuthAnn of West Montrose, Anne and Larry Wideman of Clifford, and Linda and Leroy Wideman of Drayton. Grandfather of 30 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren. Brother of Aleda Horst. Predeceased by his parents Clayton and Lucinda Martin, brother Ornan and Eileen Martin, sister Elma and Bruce Bauman, brother-in-law Elmer Horst, two grandsons, and a great-grandson. The family received relatives and friends on Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 6:30-9 p.m. and Monday, July 30, 2018 from 2-4:30 and 6-8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home (www.dreisingerfuneralhome.com), 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A family service was held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 9 a.m. then to Montrose Mennonite Meeting House for burial and public service.
