      GALT-Walter Harley, 85, of 303 Main St. E., died at South Waterloo Hospital here Monday.

      A retired building contractor, Mr. Harley was born in Bilston, England, coming to Galt in 1907. He was an adherent of Trinity Anglican Church and a member of Alma Masonic Lodge number 72, A.F. and A.M.

      Mr. Harley served overseas in the First World War with the 111th Battalion. He was a member of the 111th Battalion Association.

      He is survived by his wife, the former Ellen Owen; two sons, Walter H. of Long Branch and Harold of Thornhill; four daughters, Mrs. Lorne (Constance) Pipher, Kitchener; Mrs. Richard (Edith) Harrison, Richmond Hill; Mrs. Nellie Coles, Galt; and Mrs. Fred (Florence) Carrotte, Timmins.

      Also surviving are a brother, Harry Fearnacombe, Victoria B.C.; 20 grandchildren, 38 great- grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild.
      The body is at Coutts and Son Funeral Home where service will be held Thursday, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Mountview cemetery. Donations to the Ontario Heart Fund will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.
