Notes |
- Motz, Elizabeth Frances
The family of Betty Motz sadly announces her passing on Friday, October 22, 2021.
Our mother was a quiet gentle soul. She was always there to offer support or lend a helping hand. She loved when we visited and even more when we sat down to enjoy a meal. She was an amazing baker, cook and homemaker. She sewed clothes for her six children and sent them off to school in matching outfits. She loved to work in her vegetable and flower gardens. She taught us the value of honesty and hard work.
Our mom was born March 6, 1932 on the family homestead, outside of Maryhill, and later built a house and lived there until her final days. There, she raised her children: Brenda McCarron (Frank), Rick (Julie), Lori McKay, Tim, Susie (Dean Duquette) and Cindy Battler (Jeff). She loved to spend time with her grandchildren: Catherine and Jimmy McCarron, Kristine Kellar, Ben and Michael Motz, Stephen Schwartzentruber, Melanie and Timmy Motz, Dani and Jessie Duquette and Jaimee Battler and her great-grandchildren Colton and Kaylee Kellar and Sabine Motz. She opened her farm to the Bridgeport Wish Run for many years allowing for hundreds to spend the weekend and raise funds for local charities. We imagine Mom is spending time in heaven with all of those she loved that pre-deceased her including her parents Angeline Schmuck and Bernard Brohman, and 9 of her 11 siblings \endash Ralph, Clayton, Wilfred, Clarence, Dorothy Steffler, Helen Kreiger, Mary Dickson, Roy, and Leonard. Betty is survived by two of her siblings: Bernie and Bob Brohman and is predeceased by her grandson Bobby McCarron and by the father of her children Karl Emil Motz.
Betty's family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at St. Boniface RC Church, 1355 Maryhill Road, Maryhill. Interment at St. Boniface Cemetery.
