  David A. Herriot Former North Dumfries Township reeve David Andrew Herriot, formerly of RR 1, Branchton, passed away at St. Luke's Place, Cambridge, on Tuesday, January 15th. He was in his 84th year. Born in Galt on November 22, 1907, he was a son of the late Casey Herriot and Annie Williamson. Mr. Herriot farmed in the Branchton area for 50 years. He was a member of North Dumfries Township council from 1951 to 1958 and again from 1979 to 1982. He served as deputy reeve in 1955-56 and reeve in 1957-58. Mr. Herriot was a past president of the Federation of Agriculture and a former member of the auxiliary police force. He was a member of Galt Masonic Lodge No. 257, AF and AM, and a life member of Cambridge Shrine Club. Beloved husband of Reta Fraser; dear father of Norma Smith of Branchton, Sharon Rowat of Cambridge, Linda Crawford of St. George; loving grandfather of Sherri and Tracy Smith and Ian Rowat; dear brother of James of Lambeth. Predeceased by a brother Leonard and sister Iley. Resting at Little's Funeral Home, Galt, today (Wed.) 2 to 4 and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral service will he held at the funeral home Friday at 1: 30 p.m. Interment in Mount View Cemetery.
