- Joseph S. Cressman, "was born March 27th, 1852. On January 27th, 1880, he was married to Lydia Wenger who was born August 22nd, 1863. They resided on the old "Clemens Farm" on the west side of the Grand River at Breslau. To them were born five children".

CRESSMAN - Joseph Cressman was born near Breslau, Ont., on March 27, 1852; died at his house in Breslau, Dec. 20, 1925; aged 73 y. 8 m. 23 d. In 1880 he was united in marriage with Lydia Wenger, who with one son (Milton (sic)), and one daughter (Elvina), with five grandchildren, remain to mourn her loss. Two daughters (Ada and Annie Marietta (sic)), and one son (Leroy), preceded him to the great beyond. Bro. Cressman was converted in his early married life, united with the Mennonite Church, and remained loyal to his death. He suffered nearly three years with paralysis, and during the last year it was his constant wish to depart and be with his Lord. Funeral services were held Dec. 23 at the Cressman Mennonite Church. Services in charge of E. Sievenpipher and O. Burkholder.
