      Only Four Survivors! Out Of Fifteen in Boat Which Capsized; War Canoe Ran Into Squall Nearly Mile From Shore; Party Belonged To St. Andrew's Brotherhood Camp

      Galt Boy Loses Life.

      LINDSAY, Thursday, July 22. Eleven young men, aged from 14 to 28 years, met death in the waters of Balsam Lake on Tuesday night, when their war canoe capsized in a sudden squall. The first Intimation of the tragedy was received yesterday afternoon, when four memhers of the party, reached camp after clinging to the upturned craft in the night, for more than five hours. It was over seventeen hours after the craft overturned before the four survivors returned, exhausted, to the Brotherhood of St. Andrew's Camp. The eleven youth's who were drowned are as follows; R. Shea-Butcher, aged 28; Oliver Mardall, aged 18: Jack Wigginton, aged 16; Frank Burkitt, aged 14, Walter Burgess, aged 16, Gordon Beale, aged 19, Vernon Clarke, aged 16, Joe Edwards, aged 16, Harold Bakewell, aged 16, all of Toronto; Ray Allen, Peterborough, Harry Mills, Galt.
