- John Reist, "was born February 7th, 1793. He and his brother, Samuel, and his sister Barbara, came to Canada in 1821. While assisting in erecting a bridge across the Conestogo near Mr. Scheifley's, he was accidentally drowned March 29th, 1822. He was not married."
