Notes |
- CURRIE, JOHN ALEXANDER
The son of Mrs. Currie, who lives near Killean, 16 years of age, a boy in years, appearance and action. He worked for Mrs. Stevenson on her farm near Galt and committed suicide Saturday afternoon, June 19, 1897, by hanging himself with a leather line from a beam in the barn. It would seem that he contemplated another way as paris green was found near the pump and the path between it and the stable also bore marks of the poison. His father shot himself in 1888.
-Information from the death certificate: Died on lot 1, 9th concession of Dumfries.
-Information from the birth certificate: Born in Puslinch Township on Nov. 6, 1880, son of John Currie and Mary Smale.
