    • DAVIDSON, WILLIAM

Another old and highly respected resident of Puslinch was called to his final reward on Thursday, April 29th 1915, at his residence on College Ave. in Guelph. He had not been in the best of health for the past two years but he was able to be about up to two months ago, when he was seized with an attack of his old trouble and he could not shake off the ravages of this disease and gradually grew worse, until he passed peacefully away, with several members of his family around his bedside. Mr. Davidson was in his 86th year and came to this country from Dumfries, Scotland over fifty years ago. He first settled in Pickering Township, coming to Hespeler after the death of his wife in 1870, where he resided with his family for a number of years, afterwards removing to Puslinch, where he spent the remainder of his life. In religion, he was a Presbyterian; in politics, a Reformer. The funeral took place from the residence of his son-in-law, E. L. Taylor, College Ave. to Crown Cemetery on Sat., May 1st. The services were conducted by Rev. Spence. Pallbearers: J. A. Cockburn, J. Kinnark, N. Darby, J. Tavernor, J. Firby and H. Hammersley. He leaves one daughter, Mrs. E. L. Taylor of Guelph; and two sisters, Mrs. Walter Renwick (and her daughter, Jean) and Mrs. Clark of Hespeler.

      - Information from marriage certificates: Husband of Annie Blackie. Two known daughters, Helen Jane "Nellie" Davidson, born 1861, second wife of Edward Taylor, blacksmith, and Annie Davidson, born 1862, first wife of Edward Taylor, blacksmith.
