  GLENALLAN WOMAN DIED ON TUESDAY WELL KNOWN RESIDENT OF THIS DISTRICT GONE IN PERSON OF MRS. WM. GOWING One closely associated with the countryside about Elmira passed away in Glenallan on Tuesday morning in the person of Mrs. William Gowing. The late Mrs. Gowing suffered a stroke last July and never recovered from the effects, death taking place early on Tuesday morning. The late Mrs. Gowing was seventy-seven years of age, and was predeceased by her husband about fifteen years. Before her marriage she was well known in this district as Elizabeth Goodwin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Goodwin. Born near Peterborough in Otonabee township. she moved as a young child to the farm three miles west of Elmira taken up by her father. Here she lived until her marriage, when she moved with her husband to Maryborough township. She resided there for about thirty-five years, removing then to Glenallan where she has resided for the last nineteen years. She leaves six sons as follows: Aar-on, of Mingo township, Wellington, William, Calvin and Edgar of Peel township, and Charles of Maryborough township. One daughter, Mrs. Alex Gabel, resides in Elmira. The funeral takes place to-morrow from the residence to Glenallan Methodist Church, and thence to Glenallan cemetery for interment.
