- DOYLE, JOHN J.
Suddenly, at the residence of his brother, Thomas S. Doyle, lot 1, concession 3, Hespeler, on Saturday, July 17, 1943, in his 80th year. Eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Doyle, he was born in Hastings County at Maynooth. He had lived in Puslinch Township since he was 10 years old and had been a farmer all his life. He attended St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church at Hespeler and was a member of the Guelph Council of the Knights of Columbus. Survived by two brothers and four sisters: James of Detroit; Thomas of Hespeler; Mrs. Jerome O'Connor of Detroit; Rev. Sister M. Austin of Loretto Abbey, Armour Heights, Toronto; Sister M. Mechtilde of the Sisters of Providence, Winnipeg; and Miss Helen Doyle of Toronto. Gilbert MacIntyre Funeral Home. The funeral was held on Tues., July 20 to the Church of Our Lady for requiem high mass at 10. Rev. Father Dillon celebrated the mass, while Rev. Father Higgins and Rev. Father Ford officiated in the sanctuary and at the committal. The service was largely attended by friends and relatives. Spiritual and floral offerings were numerous. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Pallbearers: Joseph Broeckel, Michael P. Lynch, Joseph Lynch Sr., John Clair, George McGill, and Charles Crawley.
