  Grant Kropf, a resident of Woodland Towers 11, 639 West Gore Street, Stratford passed away at the Stratford General Hospital on Sunday, December 17, 2006 in his 95th year. Born in New Hamburg, he was a son of the late Jacob and Etta (Beilstein) Kropf. During the Second World War he joined the Perth Regiment Reserves and later became a flight instructor with the RCAF. Grant graduated from the Stratford Normal School in 1931 and later from the University of Western Ontario. He was a teacher in Stratford for many years and was principal at several schools until retiring as principal at King Lear in 1972. Grant was a former member of the Kinsmen Club and was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Festival City and the Golden Oldies. He also served on the boards of the Stratford Public Library and YMCA. Predeceased by his wife Mildred Jean (Pratt) Kropf on June 19, 1997. Dear father of James Grant Kropf and wife Lorraine of Collingwood and Mary Jane Pearson and husband Dan of Brussels. Dear grandfather of Erika Kropf, Jana (Pearson) Maddocks and husband David, Daniel Pearson and wife Linda and Thomas Pearson and wife Linda. Also survived by great-grandchildren Sasha and Reece Maddocks and Annalies Kropf, one brother William Kropf and wife Marjorie of Spruce Lodge and three nephews and their families. He was predeceased by sons William in 1946 and Thomas in 1959. Relatives and friends may call at the Heinbuck Funeral Home, 156 Albert Street, Stratford on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Central United Church, Stratford on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 2 p.m. Rev. Cheryl-Ann Stadelbauer-Sampa will officiate. Interment will be in Avondale Cemetery, Stratford.
