      Solomon S. Schiedel, 70, a farmer living at 4388 Douglas avenue, Cooper Center, ended his life by hanging in his garage, the sheriff's department reported today. The body was discovered last evening by the victim's son and daughter Walter and Harmena S. Schiedel, 824 Parchmount avenue, Parchment. Dr. Horace Cobb, county coroner, was summoned to the home by the deputies and said the man had been dead since last Tuesday or Wednesday. Newspapers, dating back to last Tuesday, had been left untouched in the mail box. The son said that he became alarmed when his father did not come to his house for dinner yesterday and investigated to find the body. The body was removed to the Langeland funeral chapel. Mr. Schiedel has been a resident of Kalamazoo and vicinity since 1918 and was a farmer until his retirement two years ago. Born, Nov. 7, 1879, at Caledonia, Mich., he was a member of the Damon Methodist church. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Irene Nieskens, East Leroy, Mich.; two sons, Harold, Portage and Walter, Parchment; two brothers, William, Fairfield, Ia. and Owen, Petoskey; four siters, Mrs. Mary Snyder, Caledonia; Mrs. Malinda Noggle, Cameron, MO; Mrs. Bell Schileh, Middleville, Mich.; Sarah Clemens, Portland, Ore; and nine grandchildren.
