Suddenly, on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at Stratford General Hospital, Walter Keffer of Baden and formerly of Elliott Lake, Cambridge and New Dundee. He was born 81 years ago, in Kossuth (Waterloo township) near Breslau, a son of the late Jeremiah and Hannah (Schiedel) Keffer. Walter was a member of Faith Baptist Church, New Hamburg. He had owned and operated Keffer Plumbing & Sheet Metal, in New Dundee, for over 20 years. Walter was a past member of the board of directors of the Waterloo-Wellington Flying Club, a member of the Gideons and had volunteered over 500 hours in the remodeling of First Baptist Church, Elliott Lake. He loved reading his bible and enjoyed singing, woodworking and flying as his hobbies. Beloved husband of Nesta Marie (Brown) Adams, whom he married June 28, 1980; loving father of Joan and Elroy Good of New Dundee, Ruth and Doug Zimmerman of Cambridge, Douglas and Roseann Keller of Kitchener, Don and Pamela Adams of Nova Scotia, Wayne Adams of Cambridge, Mark and Nydie Adams of Cambridge; lovingly remembered by 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; dear brother of Edith and George Albrecht of London, Mary Kaczmarek of New Hamburg and Carl and Rande Keifer of Cambridge; also remembered by a number of sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Walter was predeceased by his first wife, Laurene Margaret Hallman and by a sister, Hannah and a brother, Gordon, both in infancy. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Tuesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. On Wednesday, Nov. 21. 2001, transfer will be made to Faith Baptist Church, 150 Hamilton Rd., New Hamburg, for the funeral service, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Gary McNitt and Pastor Tom Crerar officiating. Burial to follow at 3 p.m., at Memory Gardens, Breslau.
