  GABBER, Katharina - Passed away peacefully, on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at St. Mary's General Hospital, in her 89th year. Loving mother of Martin Gabber and his wife Laurie Hewson of Toronto and Gerda Veitschegger and her husband Hubert of Vienna, Austria. Cherished grandmother of Jan Michael Veitschegger. Survived by her sister-in-law, Ilse Gabber. Katharina will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Georg and Sara Gabber; sisters, Sara Schuller and Agnes Kopes and her brother, Martin Gabber. Born February 8, 1919 in Rode, Sieburgen (Transylvania), Katharina has been a lifelong member of the Transylvania Club in Kitchener. Katharina's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, March 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A funeral service to celebrate Katharina's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, March 30 at 11 a.m. Rev. Andreas Pfeiffer officiating. Interment at Woodland Cemetery followed by a reception at the funeral home. Memorial donations to Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran Church or St. Mary's Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
