PRESTON, Nov. 23. Official word that her husband, Cpl. Clifford Fran cis Dale was slightly wounded in action, was received yesterday by his wife, Mrs. Phyllis Dale, who resides with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norm. Schoenau, 1254 Hamilton St., Preston. The message from the Di rector of Records declared that nature of wounds is not immediately known, and that he is in hospital.
Cpl. Dale, 25, was born in Galt, attended public school and Galt Collegiate, and was for some time employed at the former Wragge Shoe Co. in Galt. About a year before his enlistment in August, 1940, with the Dufferin-Haldimand Rifles, he was living in Acton where he was employed. He later transferred to the Essex Scottish Regiment. Going overseas in April, 1943, he saw action in France and Holland and was believed serving. in Belgium when wounded.
His wife and five-year-old son, Edward, have been residing with Mr. and Mrs. Schoenau since his enlistment.

DALE, Clifford Francis. Peacefully on September 12, 2001 at his home in his 85th year. Clifford served from 1941 1945 in the army during World War II in the Toronto Scottish Regiment. Loving companion to Shirley Mayo. Father of Edward Dale of British Columbia. Cherished stepfather to William LaChapelle, Sandra Morin and Janice Serbee. Grandfather to three grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren. Great-grand father to three great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his brothers Clinton, William, George, Ken and his sister Ruth Clark. The family will receive friends to share their memories of Clifford at THE BAL DOCK FUNERAL HOME AND FAMILY CENTRE 96 Norfolk St. N., Simcoe on Friday September 14, 2001 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to celebrate Mr. Dale's life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday September 15, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. Major Dean Locke officiating. Interment at Lynnville Cemetery. Reception to follow at the BALDOCK FUNERAL HOME FAMILY CENTRE. Donations in memory of Clifford, to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Society would be appreciated by the family.
