McTearnen of 1451 Concession Rd., died at his residence, Sunday. He was 70. Mr McTearnen was born in Preston and had resided here all his life. He was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of St. Clement's RC Church and was a fourth degree Knights of Columbus of Monsignor Meyers Council in Preston. He was a veteran of the First World War and was a member of Preston Royal Canadian Legion No. 126. Surviving are his wife, the former Kathryn Simmons; three sons, Robert of O'Fallon, Ill., William and Patrick, both of Preston; one daughter, Mrs. John (Lorraine) Shuttleworth of Galt; three sisters, Mrs. Roy (Lauretta) Osborn of Preston, Mrs. Mary McGrath of Dundas and Mrs. Marie Peacock of Tillsonburg and 10 grandchildren. The body is at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, until Wednesday, when removal will be made to the church for mass, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Clement's cemetery.
