Hugh L. McTearnen
PRESTON, Hugh L. McTearnen of 1451 Concession Rd., died at his residence, Sunday. He was 70. Mr McTearnen was born in Preston and had resided here all his life. He was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of St. Clement's RC Church and was a fourth degree Knights of Columbus of Monsignor Meyers Council in Preston. He was a veteran of the First World War and was a member of Preston Royal Canadian Legion No. 126. Surviving are his wife, the former Kathryn Simmons; three sons, Robert of O'Fallon, Ill., William and Patrick, both of Preston; one daughter, Mrs. John (Lorraine) Shuttleworth of Galt; three sisters, Mrs. Roy (Lauretta) Osborn of Preston, Mrs. Mary McGrath of Dundas and Mrs. Marie Peacock of Tillsonburg and 10 grandchildren. The body is at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, until Wednesday, when removal will be made to the church for mass, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Clement's cemetery.
