  PRESTON WOOLLEN PLANT HEAD DIES William Sobisch Prominent in Sport; Member of Park Board PRESTON, Oct. 2—William Sobisch, age 56, superintendent of the George Pattinson and Co., woollen plant, Preston, passed away suddenly at his South street home here shortly before noon today. Mr. Sobisch, a member of the Preston Park Board for many years, had been seriously ill for some time. He suffered from a cardiac condition, The deceased was greatly interested in sport, particularly during the years of the Preston Amateur Athletic Association when Preston was represented in the Senior Inter-County Baseball Association and the O.H.A. "Big Four" grouping. He was also an ardent bowler, being a member of the Preston Lawn Bowling Association. A prominent member of St. Clement's R.C. church, he held an executive position on the athletic association of that congregation. Deceased was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society. Starting at the Pattinson company as a boy, Mr. Sobisch spent his entire business life with that company. Surviving are his widow, two sons. John and Howard and one daughter, Doris, nurse-in-training at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. Kitchener Daily Record 2 Oct 1937 pg 3
