  MULHOLLAND, George L. On Tuesday, March 13, 1984, after a lengthy illness, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Starke, 373 Glasgow St., Kitchener, George Leonard Mulholland, aged 89 years, of 593 Dunbar Rd., Kitchener. Born in Branchton, Ont., April 16, 1894, son of the late William Mulholland and his wife Margaret Kiel. He attended school in Branchton and Galt Collegiate Institute. He is survived by his four daughters and two sons, Marjorie (Mrs. Harry Soehner) of Elmira, Dorothy (Mrs. Anthony Buckley) of Bermuda, Ruth (Mrs. Ian Ashford) of Calgary, Alta., Beryl (Mrs. George Starke) of Kitchener, William of Brampton, Ross, formerly of Sarnia and now residing in Toronto; his brother, Milton of Central Butte, Sask.; his 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Remembered by his friend, Irma Murtagh. Predeceased by his wife; one granddaughter; 11 brothers and one sister. Employed by Uniroyal Ltd. for 47 years, retiring in 1959 as Sales Production Co-ordination Manager, foot-wear division and then joined David Dattels, stock brokers, for a further 10 years. During the First World War served in France with the 47th B.C. Infantry batallion until wounded at Canal Du Nord in September, 1918. Returning to Canada in 1919, he married the former Margaret Schwalm of Mildmay, Ont., who predeceased him in 1974. A long time resident of Elmira, he was active in community affairs, serving as secretary/treasurer of the Elmira Public School Board; treasurer of Zion Evangelical Church in Elmira for many years; a member of the Elmira Library Board and a founding director of the Elmira Shirt and Overall Co. Ltd.; a member of Waterloo IOOF Lodge and an active member of the Retired Business and Professional Men's Association and Zion United Church. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after 2 p.m. today, where the family will be in attendance, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral and committal service in the Ratz-Bechtel Chapel, Friday, 3 p.m., Rev.
