  HOWARD JAMES SAGER Howard James Sager, 95, of St. Louis Avenue, formerly of Fifth Street, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 1999, in his home. Howard was born Feb. 17, 1904 in Preston, Ontario to Otto and Sarah E. (Morrison) Sager, and they moved to Duluth in 1916. Howard had worked at Bowles Lunch for 23 years and retired in 1968 after 25 years as a guard at U.S. Steel. He was a member of United Steelworkers 2891. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Eunice Weber, in 1982. Howard is survived by his wife of 75 years, Mary; a son, Robert J. Sager of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation: 1 until the 2 p.m. service Thursday in Dougherty Funeral Home. The Rev. Stephen Wlosinski officiating. Burial in Park Hill Cemetery. Memorials preferred to American Heart Association. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home.
