Notes |
- Benjamin Detweiler," son of Jacob and Susannah ( Rosenberger) Detweiler, was born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, November 23rd, 1813. When nine years of age he came to Canada with his parents who settled in North Dumfries Township, near Roseville, where young Benjamin was raised. On October 10th, 1837, he was married to Elizabeth Kennedy, a native of Inverness, Scotland, where she was born June 7th, 1820. Soon after their marriage they moved on a farm near Roseville, where they resided twenty years, thence they moved on a farm near St. Jacobs where they lived eleven years, then they sold out and moved to Port Elgin where they made a stay of four and one-half years. From here they moved back to old Waterloo County and settled at Cetreville where they resided for three and one-half years. In 1878 they moved to Berlin where they still reside. To them was born a large family:"
