  Menno Detweiler, was born September 6th, 1840. He was married to Margaret Ruppel and resided in Port Elgin where he was engaged as a carriage and wagon builder. He died July 6th, 1892, leaving a family of six children, namely: VII Laura Ann, VII Margaret May, VII Eliza, VII John Henry, VII J. George, and VII Annie." Eby, Ezra E. (1895).
