  Sgt. Gerald Boppre Mr. and Mrs. Leo Boppre. 72 Alexandra Ave, Waterloo have been advised that their son. Sgt. Gerald Boppre. 24. was killed in action Nov 21. Sgt. Boppre was serving with the Algonquin Regiment. He was previously wounded in October A brother, Cpl. Carl Boppre also serving overseas, was wounded in action in France on Aug. 28. Surviving in addition to his parents and brother Carl are five sisters and one brother Waterloo Chronicle (Waterloo, On1868), 1 Dec 1944, p. 1 __________ LANCE-CPL, CARL BOPPRE Lance-Cpl. Boppre was wounded in action in France on Aug. 28. As further information is not avail- able at present, the extent of his. injuries is not known by his family, who received the telegram today. A member of the Essex Scottish Regiment, he enlisted in October, 1941, and went overseas Labor Day weekend of last year. Before joining the army, Lance-Cpl. Boppre worked in his father's grocery store. The 25-year-old soldier was born and educated in Waterloo. A brother, Cpl. Gerald Boppre, is also serving in France. 5 Sep 1944 _____ PTE. CARL BOPPRE Pte. Carl Boppre received a bullet wound through the heel, and is still in a field hospital in France, his family have been informed. X-ray pictures are being made to ascertain whether the bone structure has been fractured. "A bit painful, but it could have been a lot worse," Pte. Boppre wrote his parents. Sept. 13, 1944
