- KRIEG, GEORGE FREDERICK
Well-known Preston resident for many years, at South Waterloo Memorial Hospital at 7: 45 on Monday morning, in his 63rd year. He had been confined to the hospital, seriously ill, for the past week and had been ailing for a time prior. Husband of Marjorie Jane Carter. Also survived by a son, George of Preston; eight brothers, Archie and Charles of Preston; Robert of Kitchener. Irvin of Hespeler; Joseph of Paris; Jack and Albert of Niagara Falls; William of Cleveland; and a sister, Wilhelmina Holtzhauer of Hamilton. Born in Puslinch, Mr. Krieg came to Preston as a young man and was employed with the Canadian Office and School Furniture. He moved to Windsor and then to Kingston, residing in the former city some sixteen years, before returning to Preston in 1947, when he was employed with the Canadian Office and School Furniture in the capacity of foreman of the trim saws department. Stager-Pass Ltd. Funeral Home. Service at St. John's Anglican Church on Wednesday at 2. Rev. R. T. Appleyard of St. John's Anglican Church officiated, assisted by Rev. J. S. Dauphinee of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. There were many beautiful floral tributes. Pallbearers: James Krieg and Joseph Ketchut of Kitchener; Harold Krieg of Bridgeport; Roy Holtzhauer of Niagara Falls; Roy Chard and Melvin Lucan of Preston. Interment in Hespeler Cemetery.
