  PRESTON - Omar Jones, Sr., well-known Preston resident for 47 years, died at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, today at the age of 69. Mr. Jones had been confined to hospital for eight days, but had been in failing health for some months. He resided with his son, Roland, at 606 Frederick St., Preston. He was born at Niagara Falls, Ont. He was a machinist at Clare Bros. for 37 ½ yrs. A member of the Presbyterian church in Niagara Falls he was an adherent of Knox Presbyterian Church, Preston. Surviving are his wife, Martha McConnell; three sons, Roland and Omar, Jr. of Preston, and William of Toronto; two daughters, Mrs. E. (Etta) Derbyshire, of Preston, and Mrs. C. (Margaret) Nicholson of Kitchener, and a sister, Mrs. James Clemmol, of Detroit. One daughter predeceased him 40 years ago. The body is resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home where the funeral will be held Thursday at 2: 30. Rev. H.G. Cleghorn will officiate.
