Notes |
- Harold Steeb Monday, October 5th, 2020
Harold Steeb, 84, of Durham passed away at Stratford General Hospital on Monday, October 5, 2020. Dear father of Suzanne Miller (Glen) and Mark Steeb (Jackie). Loving grandfather of Cody and Taylor Steeb. Dear brother of Richard Steeb (Muriel). Also surviving are his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Katharine Steeb, brother Arthur (Tiiu) and sister Helen. Harold was a Charter President of the Kinsmen Club of Bay Ridges in 1967, a Centennial project of Bay Ridges. He was very generous and always enjoyed helping others and serving his community in many different ways. He joined the Hanover Kinsmen Club in 1972 and was an active volunteer, until it closed in 2019.
Harold was a drive-In Theatre Manager in Kitchener at the Parkway Drive In and in Bay Ridges at the ODEON BAY RIDGES DRIVE IN. He operated a Car Wrecking Business for many years at Allan Park.
In his latter years he became passionate about retrieving pennies and he donated all proceeds to small Grey and Bruce County hospitals. His goal was to return all stray pennies to the mint in Winnipeg, and all the wandering American pennies, to the U.S.A.
In 1960 he married Judith Carol Hertel.
Private arrangements entrusted to the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell. Memorial donations to Stratford General Hospital
