Notes |
- DOYLE, EDWARD JOSEPH
The death of Mr. Doyle at his home in the township of Puslinch, this Thursday evening, October 11, 1917 at 6, in his 50th year, removes a highly esteemed resident of Puslinch, one of the earth's noblest men. He possessed an admirable character and enjoyed the respect and love of all who knew him. In his own home, he most manifested his true qualities of mind and heart. During his long and trying illness, he was never heard to complain but his wife and little ones were ever uppermost in his mind. His patience and resignation to his trials, his genuine self-sacrifice and kind and gentle manner are an inspiration. Son of the late M. P. Doyle, he was born at Maynooth, Hastings County on Feb. 10th 1868 and had resided in this (Puslinch) vicinity practically all his life. On the 29th of May 1900, he married Elizabeth Byrne of Arthur, ON. He had enjoyed almost perfect health until several months ago, when he became ill from stomach and heart trouble and steadily grew worse. He leaves his widow and five small children, Patrick, Francis, Monica, Mary and Edward, who is only 5 days old. The funeral was held from his residence, lot 1, concession 3, Puslinch to St, Mary's Church, Hespeler, where requiem high mass was celebrated by Rev. Father Meyers on Saturday at 9, thence to Hespeler Roman Catholic Cemetery for interment. His five brothers and John Davis, Mrs. Doyle's cousin, carried his body.
