    • Former mayor dies suddenly

      One-time mayor and ex-alderman of Preston, Harry G. Stockfish, 650 Hamilton St., died suddenly March 30. He was 66. Born in Preston, he lived here all of his life. He was general manager of James Gillies and Son Ltd. Mr. Stockfish was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Preston-Hespeler Rotary Club. He served as Preston alderman for seven years and was mayor in 1946-47. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Stockfish Surviving besides his wife the former Laura Henry, is one daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Marilyn) Forsythe of Toronto. Funeral services will be conducted at 2. p.m. April 2 from St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Interment in Memory Gardens, Breslau. Donations will be accepted for the Ontario Heart Foundation.
