    • In Memory of Lloyd Joseph Schnarr 1923 - 2017

      Lloyd passed away peacefully at The Village of Winston Park in Kitchener on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the age of 94.

      Lloyd is survived by his loving wife Rosemary (nee Bolger) for 65 years; his children, Michael, Jennifer (Gordon) Reynolds, Margot (Jack) Wallace, and Patrick "Homer" (Alison) Schnarr. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Whitney (Cooper) Lord, Ainsley (Tristan) Schnarr, Eric Schnarr, Brittany Reynolds, Bailey Schnarr; and great-grandson Walker Lord.

      Predeceased by his parents Seraphine and Clara (nee Wand) Schnarr, brothers Jerry and William Schnarr, and sisters Eileen Zettl and Terry Trendle.

      Lloyd was a veteran of the Second World War. He was a community builder and was very instrumental in the roots of St. Agnes RC Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Optimist Club, and the Community Prayer Breakfast. He loved hockey, started the Waterloo Relics, coached the Waterloo Siskins, and was an avid player until the age of 86. Lloyd started his professional hockey career in the American League with Baltimore and St. Louis and played with Gordie Howe. He was a successful entrepreneur, and along with his wife Rosemary, operated Northern Storms and Siding Ltd. Lloyd was grateful toward everyone throughout his life and will cherish them forever.       A memorial visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow.

      Memorial donations in Lloyd's name would be appreciated to Waterloo or Kitchener Minor Hockey Association (Donna's Kids or Ice Pirates), Kitchener-Conestoga Rotary Club Turkey Drive, or the Salvation Army and may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
