- Noah Detweiler," was born June 3rd, 1858. He is Mary, daughter of Jacob Y. and Nancy (Brubacher) Shantz. She was born May 9th, 1859. They reside in Buffalo, New York, where he is engaged in the button business. Their family consists of four children"

The Late N. B. Detwiler
The late Mr. Detwiler, whose death occurred on July 8th, came to Kitchener from Roseville where he was born in 1858, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Detwiler. He joined the Hydro City Shoe Company in 1896, later becoming its president, the firm being previously known as the G. B. Oberholtzer Shoe Company, continuing in that position until his death.
In civic circles he had served as a member of the city council, chairman of the Board of Health, member of the public school board and on other civic bodies.
He is survived by his wife, formerly Mary Shantz, daughter of the late Jacob Y. Shantz, one daughter. Mrs. M. C. Herner of Winnipeg. and a son, Dr. E. S. Detwiler of London, and also by two brothers. Rev. J. B. of Kitchener and Rev. Geo. B. of Harrisburg, Pa., and three sisters, Dr. Sarah B. and Mrs. D. S. Huber of Kitchener and Mrs. Samuel High of Red Deer, Alta. One brother, D. B. Detwiler, and a sister, Mrs. A. Kinzie, predeceased him.
The funeral took place on Wednesday from his late residence to the Alma Street United Brethren Church. of which he had been a devout member for many years, thence to the East End cemetery.
