  ALLEN O. SHURLY Allen O. Shurly, 56, of Elmira, died early Thursday, December 12, at his home after suffering a heart attack. He was a sales representative. Mr. Shurly, born in Galt, Sept. 2, 1901, was a son of Mr. T. F. Shurly and the late Mr. Shurly. He was a past master of Glenrose Lodge 628, Elmira, and a member of St. Aidan's Anglican Church. He was well known in district entertainment circles as a xylophonist and was a member of the Happy Cousins of Elmira some years ago. He also was a former member of the 54th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, RCA, Kitchener. Surviving are his wife, the former Gladys Jackson; two daughters, Mrs. John (Beverly) Arnold of Fonthill, Ont., and Mrs. Thomas (Jane) Wilcox of Burlington, and two grandchildren. The body rested at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor where a Masonic service was conducted in the chapel Friday at 7:30 p.m. The funeral was Saturday at 3 p.m. at St. Aidan's Church with Rev. Harry Donaldson officiating. Burial was in the Elmira Cemetery.
