- John Z. Detweiler," was born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, October 16th, 1817. On November 12th, 1844, he was married to Magdalena, daughter of John Schlichter. She was born June 26th, 1825. After their marriage they settled on a farm in North Dumfries Township, about three miles south-west of Blair. Here they resided until April, 1887, when they moved to Berlin where they have since resided. In 1865 he was ordained deacon among the Mennonites for the Hallman and Detweiler fields of labor. To them were born ten children"
