    • John W. Rodgers, 94, Retired Ellsinore Man, Died Monday, Mar. 1

      John Wesley Rodgers, 94-year- old retired Ellsinore railroader, died at 9:30 am Monday, Mar. 1, 1976, at Doctors Hospital in Poplar Bluff He had been ill two days.

      Mr. Rodgers was born July 25. 1881, in Texas County. Mo.. and had formerly lived in Michigan. He had lived in Ellsinore for 76 years, and was a member of the Ellsinore General Baptist Church.

      He was married in February of 1908 to Willie Casteel who died in 1919. On Oct. 13, 1950 he married Elsie Sharp, who survives. Other survivors are three children, Melvin Rodgers of Westland, Mich. Nona Brown of Cedar Hill, Mo., and Eva Shierman of Plattsville, Ontario, Canada; eight grandchildren, 26 great- grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild.

      The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Pewitt-Sloan Funeral Chapel in Ellsinore with Rev. Don Black, and Rev. Laddie Boyer officiating. Burial will be in White's Mill Cemetery
