- Mrs. W. A. J. Smyth
Mrs. W.A.J. Smyth, 65 of 162 Union Blvd., died yesterday at the K-W Hospital following a brief illness. The former Gertrude Carothers, she was born Nov. 10, 1897 in Cass City, Mich., a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred A. Carothers. Mrs. Smyth was a member of Trinity United Church and an active member of the Women's Association. Besides her husband, whom she married on Dec. 31, 1914, in Preston, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Ruth) Keith of Saint John, N.B. and Mrs. William (Marian) Bulmer of Kitchener; four brothers, Charles and Earl Carothers of Detroit, Clarence and Floyd Carothers of Ayr, and six grandchildren. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. G.P. Hossie, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery
