- Sykes, Samuel Private, Enlisted with the 80th Battalion of Napanee and transferred to 73rd Battalion and later to 42nd Battalion. He was twenty years old in April 1918 and the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Sykes of Preston, Ontario. He was wounded at Vimy Ridge April 9, 1917 and on August 28, 1918 he was killed in action.
