PRESTON, June . 30. - Allen Thomas Kinder. 67; of 453 Duke St. died last night at K-W Hospital following a short illness. A foreman at Pattinson's Woollen Mill, he had been employed there for 49 years. In his younger. years. Mr. 'Kinder was prominent in hockey, football and lacrosse. He played on the Hespeler lacrosse team for number of years, Mr. Kinder also was a former O.H.A, referee,; Active in St. John's Anglican Church affairs, he was on the church board for some time. He was a member of the Preston fire department, for 35 years, retiring in 1946 as assistant chief. Born in Mertriton he came to Preston at an early age.
Surviving are his widow, the former Maude Gerster; a son, James, Preston; six daughters, Mrs. Walter Dickinson, Preston: Mrs. Harley Jacobi, Barrie: Mrs. Roy Robertson, Galt; Mrs. Cecil Walker, Oshawa; Mrs. H. S. Hall, Galt; Mary Kinder, St. Catharines. The body is at the Stager-Pass Itd., Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held Friday with service at St., John's Anglican Church at 2:30 p.m, Burial will be in Preston Cemetery.
