- CHECKLEY, Peggy - Peacefully on the family farm in West Garafraxa Township, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday October 16, 2007 in her 63rd year. Beloved wife of Bob Checkley of West Garafraxa Township. Dear mother of Chris and Tanja Checkley, Cindy Checkley and Dustin Chuckley, all of West Garafraxa Township. Much cherished grandma of Anabelle Checkley. Survived by sisters, Glenda Dundas of London, Violet Prentice of Arthur, Shirley Shaw of Arthur, Laura (Mel) Hoffman of Mt. Forest and Joyce (Merle) Kelly of Arthur and brother, Ralph Bell of Fergus. Lovingly remembered by father-in-law, Walter Checkley of Arthur; sister-in-law, Lynda Richardson of Rockwood; surviving brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, Harold and Isabelle Bell; sisters, Nora, Marj, Edna, Ruby and Mildred and brothers, Nelson and Bruce. Family will receive friends at the St. John Parish Center, 131 Georgina St., Arthur on Thursday October 18, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the St. John Parish Center on Friday October 19, 2007 at 11 a.m. Interment Greenfield Cemetery, Arthur to follow. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.
