      PRESTON, March 25 - A lifelong resident of Preston, William Herman, 72, of 225 King St., died very suddenly at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, on Saturday afternoon. He was employed as a moulder for 55 years at the Clare Bros. Foundry at Preston which was razed by fire on Saturday afternoon.

      He was born in Preston, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Herman. The late Mr. Herman was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Preston. Forty-five years ago in Preston he married Martha M. Israel who predeceased him two months ago.

      Surviving are two brothers, John and Charles, both of Preston, and a sister, Mrs. John Allemang of Kitchener.

      Remains rested at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home from where funeral services were held today. Burial was made in Union Cemetery, Elmira. Rev. W. H. Knauff officiated.
