- Col. Frank Moss
PRESTON, Col. Frank Moss, former well-known Preston resident, industrialist and sportsman, died at his residence, 37 Scarborough Road, Toronto, yesterday. He was 87. The late Col. Moss at the age of 87, came to this district from England. Owner of the Preston Furniture Co., he conducted that business until his retirement in 1918, following his three years service overseas, during the First World War. Deceasedwas a very keen sportsman, at one time holding the amateur lightweight boxing championship of Canada. An enthusiastic horseman, he was director of the Galt Horse Show, for years and exhibited his hunters at many of the Ontario horse shows. He served later as secretary of the Canadian Hunters Improvement Association. The late Mr. Moss was married in 1892 toIda Jean Erb, daughter of Abraam Erb, who predeceased him in 1952. Surviving are three children, Dr. Jean Bannister, Preston, Mrs. Geoffrey C. Lewis (Eleanor) of Montreal, and F. W. Moss of Toronto, and four grandchildren. The body is at the A. W. Miles Funeral Home, 30 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto. Funeral service will be in St. Paul's Anglican church chapel, Bloor St. East, Toronto, Friday morning at 11 o'clock, with interment in St. James cemetery.
